Look at that smile!! I was playing and I noticed he was staring at me intently, so I played "If you're happy and you know it" and that smile and laughter is what I got in return!! It was much more heartwarming than an auditorium full of people applauding. :) Hopefully we have a little musician on our hands!

My family and I relocated to Burglengenfeld Germany. It's amazing here. Our city has an intact castle, which is amazing. Europe is definately different, but it's fun. I haven't come across any violin shops or luthiers yet, but then again I haven't gotten to go out exploring all that much. I'm having a great time though! I hope you all are having a good time as well!

I'm having a yard sale! oh AND we're going home in 2 weeks! :)

Oh boy oh boy. LOL This is going to be interesting. My husband is leaving to Germany before us to get housing set up for us and everything. So, to pass time and get some extra cash (and mostly because our appliances and whatnot don't work in Germany) I'm having a yardsale. It's hard pricing your own stuff. Matt and I were discussing prices and my heart broke everytime we agreed on a price. I mean, these are our things that we've collected since we got married and now we have to sell them and start over. Okay I'm going to stop whining now. haha.

I realized that my electric violin does NOT have a hard case, and traveling overseas without a hard case is going to Mars with no space suit! That means I get to shop! haha See there's a point to my madness! :) I'll use my yardsale money to buy a case!

We're going home to Ohio in 2 weeks and I'm excited yet I'm sad. When we get there we're leaving our dogs and cat with my mother. We can't take them to Germany with us yet.

THEN... (boy this is a long one) When we get back from our vacation, Matt is leaving for Germany from Dothan (here in Alabama). And Alex and I will be here by ourselves until they call for us (probably like a month or two at the max) and then we'll be off to Germany. :)

Alex is doing great! He had his 2 month check up already (time flies when you're deprived of sleep! haha) and he's 12 lbs 10 oz and 23 inches tall. Big Boy! hah :) He got shots and oh my goodness, he did NOT like that.

Well everything else is good, I can't complain. :) I hope you all have a great day! By the way if anyone has played anything new, please direct me to the place to find it! And also, I want to record and post something, but I don't know how. Any help/suggestions would be wonderful! :) Thank you!!!! Good day!

Yea, I can't sleep...

So much to do and so little time to do it in!! Aye aye aye! Well, update on the homefront, my son Alexander is doing great! He's a month old already (doesn't seem that long ago~!) and my hubby is doing well also. I have been neglecting my poor violin, but I'm sure she understands and knows I'll be back to her soon enough! :)
Matt got "orders", and we're moving to Germany! Yay! I can't wait. We are leaving next month. Yea, next month and NOTHING is packed yet. I have a feeling this is going to be one of those last minute "hurry up and pack" deals. And I'm SUPER worried about our instruments making it safely all the way to Germany with our movers. They are kind of rough on things. :( So cross your fingers and pray to the String Gods that they arrive safely. And if they don't we're in the right country to get them repaired. :) See bright side to everything! :) Good day everyone!!! :)

I have just liberated myself and bought a metronome. I haven't had one since I was 14 but I figured I'm never too old to stay on tempo. hah. I printed out some new etudes that I NEED to be kept on time with and I remembered that they make metronomes for that very purpose... What a novel idea!!

Days are blurring together...

Oh my, oh my. Why is it that the more I practice the more I want to cry! It couldn't be that I'm 7 and a half months pregnant, emotional and SWOLLEN! Hah, my fingers look as though they are water balloons. The baby likes when I play though, it's the only time all day that it's not kicking my ribcage. Oh the joys of pregnancy.

Lately life has been hectic and it's only going to get worse. My husband is being deployed to Iraq in November ON our anniversary. Our baby is due in July (It's June already!! AH) and my brother in law is coming to live with us for the summer. Yikes.

I took a picture of my love and uploaded it on here, I don't know if I did it correctly or not. So, we'll see!

Well, it certainly has been a long long time since I've been back on the internet. I apologize, my violin frenzied friends! I haven't played in awhile either, but that has a very well explainable reason. My father passed away in November so I've been in Ohio for awhile. Everytime I look at my violin I think of my father, so of course I don't want to go there. My dad was one of those hard to please guys who never let his guard down. I had only ever seen him cry one time and that was when his father had passed away. He always made me keep practicing when I was young because I wanted to quit many times, but he would never let me. He signed me up for orchestra's in 5th and 6th grades but he would NEVER ever come to the concerts. So, he never heard me perform in a group until my brothers wedding when I was about 16 or 17 years old. I played in a duet with a piano and myself. My brother and sister in law are good ol' boy and girl so of course they chose Kannon in D. My father was in the crowd at the wedding and of course I wasn't watching him, I was watching the music on the page. Well, we were watching the video from the wedding after my dad's funeral, and the camera man zoomed in on my mom and dad when we were playing Kannon. His eyes were locked on me and there were tears streaming down his face. He was so proud of me because none of my brothers or sisters ever stuck with the instruments they chose, but he would never say it. I'm glad I saw the video because it made me realize that he really was proud of me. It put some old skeletons in my closet to rest, but I still have issues with my violin and him. I'll get over it but for now she's collecting dust in the music room. Good thing I bought polish....

Joshua Bell isn't human. There is no way I could ever play the Caprices from the Red Violin. I ordered them because I was curious and wanted to see what they were like. I saw them... and now I want to cry.

Finally, back in my own cozy home! Vacation was wonderful, but it is always good to come home.
I am having trouble finding music that catches my attention to play. I think the fist thing I'll do when we get paid is buy new sheet music. Everything that I have, I've played ... and played. My husband congratulated me on how well Allegro turned out for me. Usually I get frustrated with a piece, then move on without completing it. This time was different, Allegro caught my attention and kept it, and that is what I need to find!

The electric violin I ordered finally came in this week. It's incredible. I'm having a little trouble getting used to the weight of the instrument, but everything takes time! :) I never thought when I started playing at age 10 that I would have a violin that required batteries one day! That amuses me.

Only a week left until my husband and I get to return home to Ohio! I'm finishing up last minute stuff around the house, making sure everything is put in it's place, folding all the laundry, making sure the luggage is dusted... so as you can see I'm pretty bored! Excited none the less though! My neice keeps calling me and asking me how many days left until I come home. She's potty training, and getting the hang of it quite fast! She must have got her brains from my side of the family! :)

I've never really liked country music, but I find myself sitting here listening to LeeAnn Womack. Maybe it's because I'm lonely? My husband spent the night at a friends last night, he was helping him move and it was late, so he stayed. It was the first time we'd spent a night alone since we got married. Aye aye aye!

Time to put Allegro to rest!! :) Good Day!
