Stressed with burned fingers, hah!

This month has been a bad month for my hands, period.

First there was that chemistry lab, where I spilled silver nitrate over my entire left hand. It just stained it brown but was rather unattractive...
A word of advice to all violinists during summertime: mowing the lawn without heavy protective gloves is not smart. If you don't have a ride-on, USE GLOVES. Otherwise you WILL get two most inconviently placed blisters on your thumbs and index fingers.
And then there was that campfire where I burned my index and middle finger on my left hand on a rock. Don't even ask.
I have a concert on Friday and finals all though this week. Hope I'm all healed up before then! I will be playing the 2nd movement of the Bruch in G minor and 2 movements from Bach's E Major Partita. Speaking of these, I tried something new today-practicing outside. It was rather windy but was warm and very peaceful. Now I'm not one for analyzing music like Jeremy Denk, but it got me thinking about the Bach. Everything about the piece sounds clean and organic-like a fresh red apple that's just been washed. A quick light vibrato polishes every note up, and the dissonant double-stops can be brought out with a slightly slower bow and a little bit of weight.
There's a little bit of what I'm thinking about when I practice. Deep. But now I must study...
