So...

September 25, 2006 at 8:13 PM

I start Wednesday. Tchaikovsky 5 is on the menu, so I guess I have a lot of notes to learn this week.

Congrats, Emily. The conductor of a community symphony orchestra I used to play in told us, "Tchaikovsky did not like violins." It's true.

See. No sweat.
Brewhouse after Wed. rehearsal? I'm not sure if Jessica will be at rehearsal Wed. or not but she always wants to go out for spring rolls afterwards anyway.
Good luck on the Tschaik. Some of it is pretty nasty. Oh well, all those horns can be very useful at times.

Jim - we all know it was in the fortune cookie. Quit trying to convince people otherwise!

Emily, good luck on the Tchaik. My first Tchaik symphony was Tchaik 4, I got 1 day to learn the entire thing (plus the other half of the program) and man was it hard. They are really exciting to play though!

You guys are so great. I do feel pretty good about it, like I'm officially a professional now, even though I don't suppose I'm really any different than before. What excites me most is that I get to play with a full symphony of amazing players, and I can't wait to hear the sound from the stage again. I haven't played with a full orchestra since college. It was one of my favorite things about playing the violin, and I've missed it.

congrats Emily!

I'm sure you know the words to the last movement theme of Tchaik 5...

Hooray! Congrats! I still can't believe Anchorage has a symphony! Back when I lived there, it was more like quonset huts and grizzly bears... earthquake reconstruction...
