My viola arrived today! I've been a violist for 3 hours now. It is awesome. I'm in love with Sophia - she came from Germany by way of Sofia, Bulgaria. My very first eBay purchase has turned out just grand. How lucky is that?

Congratulations on your new viola! New violas are such a great thing. May it bring you joy and happiness, as mine has brought me.

Actually my first reaction to ebay was surprize at how honest people seem to be. You send somebody you don't know some money, and they send you something in return, and you can count on it to such an extent that you can build an empire on it (ebay). One thing to look out for in ads is lots of misspelled words. Unfortunately most crooks seem to be crooks because they have to be. When you can barely spell your name you don't have a lot of choices in this world... If you have your antennae up, you can tell what's happening in an ad.

Inability to spell "surprise" not withstanding. I'm not a crook, I tell ya.

I'm now convinced I was born to be a violist. I can't stop playing. Yes, Jim, I had a good feeling about the seller. He had 100% positive comments from nearly 80 buyers and the instrument arrived exactly as described/pictured. I think the thing that made me bite was the youTube video of him playing the instrument. I realize that would have been an easy way to dupe folks, but I really fell in love with the viola's sound. I am so pleased with my purchase and my alto clef reading is improving daily!
