Finalists Named in the Montreal International Violin Competition
Congratulations to the finalists, named Saturday, in the 2016 Montreal International Violin Competition! They are:
- Petteri Iivonen, Finland
- Bomsori Kim, South Korea
- Fedor Rudin, France/Russia
- Ji Won Song, South Korea
- Ayana Tsuji, Japan
- Minami Yoshida, Japan

Finals will be held May 30 and 31, with a Gala Concert on June 2. Prizes will be announced right before the Gala Concert. Violinist.com Editor Laurie Niles will be in Montreal to bring you coverage of the finals and gala concert, which also will be shown on Medici.tv.

Jury members for the 2016 Montreal Competition are: Pierre Amoyal (France); Boris Brott (Canada); Boris Garlitsky (Russia -France); Ida Kavafian (Armenia - United States); Mihaela Martin (Romania); Vera Tsu Wei-Ling (China); and Kathleen Winkler (United States), with André Bourbeau, Co-Founder and Chairman of the CMIM, acting as non-voting president of the jury.
