I would pay any money to go to a live performance of this concerto. Alas, nobody plays it where I live. All the famous violinists come to my city once in a while, but their programs are boring, so I am still waiting. Maybe, Gil Shaham will bring something more interesting the next time he performs in my city. Paganni #5 would gather much more audience than his last concert. With all due respect and all the sadness... This rondo is divine.
There is a bigger chance he HAS to listen to the violin concerto of Tsaikovsky in his concerthall (or stay at home), but not on this instrument, a Chinese Erhu:
