So - I did some research for you. I am very picky when it comes to violins and pretty much any financial investment big or small. Quality is number 1 ! It is very important when you first start the violin that you have a good quality instrument. The violin is hard enough and you want your instrument to work for you not against you.
Being the Savvy Spender that I am, I also look for extremely reasonable price point for that AMAZING quality.
Since online violin started almost a year ago now - I have been looking for a global solution for violin purchase and I finally found one - Zlata Brouwer at Violin Lounge. She is a violinist and violin teacher herself and knows exactly what is needed for the beginner violin. She has found quality violins at EXTREMELY competitive prices. Seriously, when I first skyped with her and she played her beginner violins for me I was surprised at the price point for the quality. I knew it was possible to find quality violins for this price point because I knew they existed in the world - I just didn't know how to connect with them until I found Zlata. I feel 100 % confident in presenting Zlata Brouwer and her violins to my current and future Online Violin Students.

Teaching the violin hold to young children can be a challenge. It is very important that one starts off with an excellent foundation of a violin hold. It is also important for the health of the body that the violin hold is correct. It is possible after many years of holding the violin incorrectly that the body of the violinist may grow incorrectly. TRUE !! It is so important to develop the muscles to help hold the violin. A little bit every day is important - not too much all at once. Also, make sure that the student has the correct size. Too big of a violin can do damage as well. Please check out my violin size video if you have any questions about how to find the right size. In these videos, I also discuss some games that are great for group lessons !! Make sure to have a carpeted floor. A little dangerous to do these games on a hardwood or tile floor in case the violin falls :)
Enjoy the videos.
PS The videos were recorded in the winter with no heat. I was seriously freezing when I made them :)
