How to Memorize a 40 Minute Piece of Music

There's no such thing as a "40-minute piece of music."  Such pieces are always broken up into a couple sections that are 5-6 minutes apiece.  Memorize each separately.  That's 7 or so 6-minute pieces, one after another.
