I finished Mozart Violin Concerto No 3 two weeks ago. I still need to order to music for Haydn's Concerto No. 1 in C. I have lessons this coming wednesday. I need to work on my technical studies for that. I have Kreutzer No. 7 to work on (at the point and at the heel) and also Schradieck exercise IV.
I am about fed up with Schradieck. I don't understand why it is so difficult to stay in tune. I am not having the slightest problem with all of the bow crossings, but my left hand is messing everything up for me. So, I practiced slowly, focused on pitches, and now it sounds a lot better.
I haven't really work on kreutzer, except for earlier on in the week, when I practiced it slowly at the tip. This leaves speeding it up at the tip, and also starting slowly at the nut, and speeding that up.
I've worked on my bach (which is Minuet I from Partita No. 3 this week). I've cleaned up the pitches, but every once and awhile a sour note will slip while I play some of the doublestops and chords.
I have a gig at a church later on today at 6:00. I had rehersal yesterday from 1-3:00, and it is a very short program. I could sight read most of the music, except there was this one part where the music went up to a C in whatever position that is.
This job is much better than that last fiddling job I had. I hate fiddle music. I hate playing it and i hate listening to it.
I was playing at the Cobb County Civic Center along with a keyboard, drums, guitar, and bass for the play: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.
I've never read the book, but I did read the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn last year, so I'm not exactly sure how accurate it was.
curse the open a-e double stop.
and slides too
Oh well, my practice break is over.
