Three Years Later

While I was going to post something else, this seems somewhat more appropriate...ironically, I had the honor of meeting John O'Neal, the theatre director mentioned in the end of this article, in 2006 at the New Haven International Festival of Arts and ideas.

I've been keeping an eye on it all day long. Right now (Sunday night) I'm thinking about that city, empty, with rain falling on all its manifestations of human effort: the buildings, the carefully placed trees, the roads, the levees. And what happens in the next 24 hours? My prayers go out to all those who are forced to re-live a nightmare, that's you, too, Samuel.

Hello to you, and thanks for posting the link. The approach of Gustav has made me think of you and all the folks affected by Katrina. May this one pass through more quietly...

Like your new pic, BTW. : )
