Drivers Ed Here I Come

July 13, 2007 at 8:47 PM

I get to start drivers ed on the 17th. I'm kind of nervous because I'm homeschooled and haven't been in a classroom setting for four years. I don't think I'll fit in well. Oh, well. I guess I'll try to deal with it.

Don't worry Daniel, I've been homeschooled most of my life and I did just fine in driver's ed. The actually classroom material shouldn't be too difficult - just pay attention and follow directions and you'll be fine. If you feel awkward socially, try to introduce yourself to 2 or 3 friendly looking people and hang out with them whenever you have breaks. Good luck! :)

Hey Daniel, don't fret! I was homeschooled from kindergarten right up until grde 11 and then I started in classes with 40 kids. I lived!!! You'll be fine!!

Why do you care if you fit in? Is that what they teach in home school?

When I turned 16 my parents taught me how do drive around an empty parking lot some. Then a few weeks go by and I take driver's ed and the first thing he does is have us drive across this nightmare mountain near school. My turn was the second or third day of it and I think I was sweating bullets till then a little bit. He was a young guy, with a ridiculous waxed handlebar mustache. Best teacher I ever had probably, too bad it was just driver's ed. Or maybe not.
