I just played a violin special at my church. I did awesome considereing this was a moderate to advanced piece. (I'm so relived it's over) Out of the book I've been playing I've played all the easy ones.

What was the piece you played? Right now I am working on a few pieces from which I can choose to perform in a recital. Not sure which one I am doing yet though. I am pretty sure it isn't the Bach prelude from suite no one for unaccompianned cello for violin, too shrill.

Congrats on your successful experience Daniel !
I have yet to feel really satisfied the few times I've had the opportunity to play in public. I have 4 pieces to do for an Easter Cantata coming up....none of them are that difficult and I have plenty of time to work on them.....I should do a fair job of it...if I could just get past my nerves !!

good job---did you play a hymn or a classical piece? I just did "Fairest Lord Jesus" It was pretty hard-imo- lots of 3rd position--like eileen said though--I never really satisfied w/ anything that I play--I hear all the mistakes!

This month is our church's missions month. The arrangement was called the commission. It had: Bring Them In, and Send the Light. Here's a link to the site where you can hear the music and buy the book:

I have performed:

I'm working on:
