From Shanghai: Sergei Dogadin plays Paganini 20 and 21

August 16, 2016, 10:11 PM · Here's a little something from this week's Quarter Finals for the Shanghai Isaac Stern International Violin Competition: Sergei Dogadin of Russia plays Paganini Caprices No. 20 and 21. Dogadin won the 2015 Joseph Joachim International Violin Competition Hannover as well as the top prize in the 2011 Tchaikovsky Competition. Read his complete bio here. He plays a G. B. Guadagnini violin (Parma, 1765) provided by the "F. Behrens Stiftung" (Hannover, Germany).

Quarter Finals for the Shanghai competition will continue through Aug. 19, followed by Semi-Finals Aug. 23-29 and Finals Sept. 1 and 2.
