Jeno Hubay 4th violin concerto
October 10, 2010 at 6:22 PM
The Hungarian composer Jeno Hubay (1858-1937) wrote 4 violin concerto's and the short piece Hejre Kati for violin+ orchestra. Soon I will play with the gypsy Serban + amateurorchestra this Hejre Kati + the Ballade of Porumbescu. Here the 4th violin concerto of Hubay (I think his 3th is better):

Hi, I love these series of blogs. Do you have a recording of the third concerto? Stefi Geyer, a violinist I've blogged about, was the dedicatee for the third concerto and I'd love to hear it, especially since you say you prefer it to the fourth...

Excelent Vilmos Szabadi had recorded all 4 Hubay's on a double Hungaroton CD. He had recorded nearly all Hubay's works on the same label.

Sorry, wanted to clarify that Geyer was the dedicatee of the 4th violin concerto, not the 3rd as I said.
