Notes with 7th violinconcerto of Vieuxtemps

November 9, 2008 at 5:29 PM

I placed the soloviolinpart together with a cd of the 7th violinconcerto of Henry Vieuxtemps, so you get an impression of the difficulty of the piece and you get a totally other impression than only audio:

Vieuxtemps, Henry 7th violinconcerto mvt.1 Moderato

Vieuxtemps, Henry 7th violinconcerto mvt.2+3

Thanks for this. I pulled up the score on imslp, and the first movement seems pretty approachable. I can't believe his concerti aren't more well known among students.

I'm going to look into others by him.

For recordings, there's Gerard Poulet with Pierre Bartholomee conducting Liege Orch.No.6, No.7

and "Greeting to America". Auvidis-Valois V 4797.

Carlos guessed the right soloist. Also Naxos has recorded it with Misha Keylin, I thought.
