After 4 decemberconcerts bronze, after 8 gold harp/lyre

March 13, 2007 at 11:52 AM

Here a scan of my bronze harp and golden harp/lyre of my studentsorchestra. I played in 1983 and 1984 2 decemberconcerts and after 5 years of not playing violin at all from 1991-1996. In 1992 I got the bronze harp/lyre because of my 4 decmberconcert I played. At that time I had already finished my study, but it was no problem to play longer in that orchestra, although I lived and worked in a factory quite far from that studentorchestra. Because I did not had a car at that time, I have to go by train. But so late in the evening the train did not reach the place where I lived, so I had to bike another 10 km with my folding bike to the place where I lived, so I got my gold medal!! in the end. A silver medal was for persons who have been twice in the orchestra-committee, but I only played.

A foto of me to the right from more than 10 years ago.

only wooden desks (now the concertmaster plays from a wooden desks and the 1th cellist may play with red socks during concert [another strange old fashioned tradition])

The orchestra Sempre Crescendo from 1831 has a rich history http://www.sempre.corps.nl/2004 . They played with Henryk Wieniawski from Poland in the past.

"The 1st cellist may play with red socks (it's a strange tradition)"

My next orchestra concert is my last one in Tulsa. I've been trying to figure out what weird little prank I could play, and I think now I'm on to something. Red socks with the standard concert black! :)
