PART 5 Why are these rare violinconcerto's never been played or seldom (and never) recorded?
Hello,
This week the Italian born composer Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. Heifetz and Perlman have recorded his 2th violinconcerto opus 66 “The Prophets”. His rare violinconcerto is a favourite of Dutch violinists Carla Leurs and Tjeerd Top. The last one called it: “Quality in an unknown area.” They both like it to play with their professional orchestra or as soloist one day in their life, if that will ever happen.
I could not find soundfragments of it on www.jpc.de or www.amazon.com , but they have it on amazon.com without soundfragments:

The first violinconcerto of Castelnuovo-Tedesco is UNRECORDED, as far as I know. The sheetmusic of both violinconcerto’s I found in the Conservatory of The Hague, Den Haag, the Netherlands.

Thank you for sharing this with us. I know Castelnuevo-Tedesco from my classical guitar days. I used to really love the guitar repertoire. John Williams, the famous classical guitarist from Australia recorded Castelnuevo's guitar concerto which I like. Christopher Parkening, the guitar virtuoso, once premiered one of his guitar pieces and introduced Castelnevo's wife to the audience at Alice Tully Hall in NYC.
