December 5, 2006 at 11:56 AM

Second price winner of the Queen Elisabeth-competition in Brussel some years ago, violinist Albrecht Breuninger, likes to record rarities.
Now he has recorded from Charles Auguste de Beriot violinconcerto's 2,4,7. Earlier only 1,8,9 of the Beriot were available on cd.(Beriot wrote 10 violinconcerto's)

Earlier Albrecht Breuninger recorded the posthumus violinconcerto of Eugene Yasaye, no.8, because Ysaye destroyed during his life his first 7 violinconcerto's. The piece is posthumus revised and orchestrated by his grandson Jacques Ysaye and available on jpc.de and amazon.com

Albrecht Breuninger
ALbrecht Breuninger has also recorded the 4 violinconcerto's of Karol Lipinski, a sort of Wieniawski, also called the Polish Paganini. All very interesting rarities.
