You look like you're about twelve years old. Is it the Alaska weather? Or wait, maybe you ARE twelve years old and just sound/act really mature. Child bride, and such.

So you just bent down and pick up a fish like that? Fishing is BC is a lot harder:)

For some reason, the top picture looks to me as though you had a coffee mug in hand… crazy me!

Yixi, you're on a roll! :)

Terez, I feel like I'm twelve when I fish!

Bilbo, I'm guessing 24 inches, 4 lbs. It was nice. The king I had on got away. No lax for my bagel just yet. Steelhead are catch-and-release only. Lucky fish...

Where do you get your bagels? Can you get a decent one (that is, acceptable to an Eastern, urban Jewish ethnic like me) within 100 miles of Soldotna?

Heck no! I have to go all the way to New Jersey to get a good bagel. Here, you can buy a Safeway bagel. Homemade bagels are a lot of work, and they never come out quite the same as a good east coast style bagel, all fluffy and chewy and with that bubbly crispy crust. I know a good shop in Absecon. Where do you go to get yours?

Emily - I live in DC, so I can go to places like Bethesda bagels or Einstein's. No problem here. You need to have an agreement with some good bagel place in New Jersey to ship you bagels periodically.

...or an agreement with someone who goes to Bethesda's or Einstein's regularly who could ship them. I'll trade you some fresh salmon! M.Y.O.G. (Make your own gravlax.)

Emily - thanks; you offer a nice deal, but I almost never buy bagels (wife on a low carb diet) and I do not like lox (or any salmon for that matter). Sorry. Maybe someone else will be interested.
