Leftovers

December 19, 2006 at 4:18 AM

So that was my first recital. That wasn't so bad now, was it? It was definitely the least nervous that I've ever been during a performance, all 45 minutes of it. I found it helps a lot to know that your audience loves you.

Thanks, Mamma and Daddy.

We saved you folks some goods. George's chicken cashew salad's in the fridge. Grab some coffee, Jim, the chocolate almond hazelnut biscotti is yours.

I'm sure you played beautifully, and the chocolate looks great.

Yum! Will you share your recipes? I've never made biscotti.

Scott, over 30 people showed. I thought the Mozart was the best I'd ever played it, and the rest were pretty good, too.

Donna, the recipe for the biscotti is here: http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,,FOOD_9936_4415,00.html?rsrc=search

Peanut butter bars:

2 C graham cracker crumbs
2 C powdered sugar
1 C peanut butter
3/4 C melted butter (or so)

You add the melted butter last, and just until it packs well into a 9 X 13 pan. Top with a melted mixture of 1 1/2 C chocolate chips and 1 T butter.

Those peanut butter bars are stupid easy, but of all the recipes I've used with the public over the years, that's the most highly requested dessert. I kinda resent them for it, but they're still pretty good.

I don't know if I could make that stay down, man. Of course I wouldn't say that at the table. I would also use the proper fork if one was supplied.

That table with the grooves in it, isn't it hard to keep clean?

Glad it went so well! Happy holidays and New Year and thanks for the recipe.

Jim, I'll make sure you get a second helping.

Table? That's the floor. We have no problem keeping the grooves clean, what with three dogs and all.
