Brother Roger is now in heaven, living with Jesus. R.I.P

Brother Roger was one of the Brothers that worked at Taize in France. He was killed last night in his church. Although I never knew him, I feel deeply saddened at this news. It's odd - this probably won't make the front page news in the paper, but I feel worse about it than I did with both the London Bombings, the Bali Bombings, and September 11. Perhaps it is because I connect with the Taize Music so much.

"Jesus, Remember me, When you come into your kingdom." Luke 23:42

May God comfort you in this time. Can you even imagine how happy Brother Roger is right now dancing down the streets of gold? I can't wait until I get there. :-)

Ben,
It is very sad indeed that the great, and very humble, Brother was killed while praying & singing. Though I suspect he certainly didn't (doesn't) mind.

For those who may not know: Br Roger founded the Taize community in 1940, a community dedicated to peace and reconciliation. He brought about a style of worship singing which is absolutely beautiful. Taize singing groups are found all over.

He was a very remarkable man! The loss is greater than we can know.
