Hi all
Having recently purchased (iTunes) the recordings that Bella Hristova made of Charles August de Beriot's 'Scenes ou Caprices' and '9 Studies' with an encore titled 'Prelude ou Improvisation', I was wondering if any of you folks know where i can obtain the 9 Studies.
I found the Scenes ou Caprices on IMSLP and what wonderful solo violin compositions they are. I love the 9 Studies as well but have tried the usual Google search with nothing. They must be in print somewhere but where?
If anyone could point me in the right direction I will really appreciate it.
They sound wonderful on Bellas 1655 Amati violin especially the chordal bits. It's really inspired me to learn them!! I've started learing number 3 and number 5 for now.
Cheers
Alan
Hi Alan,
IMSLP seems to have at least one of these in their links.

Have fun.
Cheers,
Matt.
Oops. Sorry, didn't read your initial post enough. You've already checked there.
Ah, well. Good hunting.
Matt.
I've checked all my resources & then some ......with no luck. Perhaps contact the violinist on the CD for info?
I was also on a hunt for a Beriot etude I heard last summer. It turned out to be #6 from op 123. & I bought it last month.
Glad you enjoyed the album! I'm the one who supplies all the sheet music to Naxos for the 19th Century Violinist Composer series. I sourced the 9 Studies from Book 3 of the de Beriot violin school.
cool. I just came across that site today as part of my search & bookmarked it.
Nice to see a happy ending.
Jonathan, thank you for the website link - I've sent you an e-mail so hopefully you might be able to help.
Thank you to all the other replies too. It's amazing how some things inspire and enthuse you in life - Charles Auguste de Beriot has certainly inspired and enthused me :)
I can play quite a few of his op 123 studies - they are truly lovely solo violin pieces and some are tricky and difficult in places. Not only do they develop your technique, they develop your musicianship too, which we all know is what studies are designed to do.
Cheers
Alan
