Why are opera singers given 'allowance' to slide, even slight glissandi in Mozart and violinists are not?

I don't want to spend too much time writing, but am excited to share some links:
Tim Ferriss- totally inspired by this guy. Listen to him here:

I was also inspired by reading Seneca's letter on the shortness of life. The letter can be found on Tim's blog in it's entirety, here:
Seneca on the shortness of life:
"You will hear many men saying: “After my fiftieth year I shall retire into leisure, my sixtieth year shall release me from public duties.” And what guarantee, pray, have you that your life will last longer? Who will suffer your course to be just as you plan it? Are you not ashamed to reserve for yourself only the remnant of life, and to set apart for wisdom only that time which cannot be devoted to any business? How late it is to begin to live just when we must cease to live! What foolish forgetfulness of mortality to postpone wholesome plans to the fiftieth and sixtieth year, and to intend to begin life at a point to which few have attained!"
Now go live!

Sometimes people one once revered; respect diminishes. And sometimes one not respected.... later revered.
The tricky part is knowing... understanding.
Avoid those who take... who diminish or compromise your quality of life! Avoid also those who put on a front, pretending to be someone who they are not..... avoid those who say one thing and do another.... They must be avoided at all costs!
Instead, surround yourself with those who empower you, who raise your standards, who support you, who ultimately make you a better person! And give to them, too!
