New case!!!!!

May 16, 2006 09:14

I've had the same violin case for around 8 years (since I was 13ish), and it doesn't have a suspension, humidity, or any of that kind of stuff, so I was in the market for one. I was going to use my orchestra scholarship money to buy it, but my parents told me to save my money and wait until my birthday. So for my birthday last month, my parents decided to spoil me a little bit and get me a Musafia case! I didn't want to break the bank, so I told them that I wanted a Superleggero, which is their basic model. Not TERRIBLY expensive, but it was really light and protective, so I figured it would do the job.

So my parents ordered it through some website (I forget which one), and it didn't arrive for about a month (I had no idea they didn't have it, since I'm at school all year, and I just got out a couple days ago). They called a couple times, and apparently somebody wrote a bunch of orders down as shipped but didn't ship them, and they weren't going to get any more of that model case until late August....

So, the sales rep at the shop upgraded it to the Musafia Aeternum for free!!! It just so happened that they had a couple of those in stock, so she sent us out an awesome case!

So I came home and my parents said "Happy birthday!" and gave me my case. I was expecting the superleggero, but the case I saw was a little more... ovular. And upon opening it, I realized that this case was DEFINITELY a step up. And I went crazy. The end.
