Wow, how time flies... it seems like yesterday was the CJSO's concert, but that was all the way back in May.

Well, let's see. I'm adjusting to my new role as associate conductor -- which so far consists of acting as liaison between the board and the music director, because the MD is not in town and won't be until August. You wanna know how hard it is to put a season together when the person responsible for it is not in touch? Combine that with the board's unwillingness to fund "unmarketable" programs and you get one word -- headache.

But in my other life, things are going well. I do still work for Machold, though you'd never know it from looking at my entries for the last 6 months. The Neapolitan cello from my January blog on "kills" sold, so my reputation as a prophet is apparently still intact. And there seems to be a lot of buzz on the street about the shop, because we're getting more calls than I've seen since I began working there. It's hectic, but I'm certainly not complaining.

I'll be in Aspen this week with Julie, the head of our workshop, marking the beginning of my annual "summer swing". After Aspen, I'll be heading up through Vermont to Meadowmount, Killington, Yellow Barn, and as many of the other festivals and camps in the Northeast as I can. It's a great time of year to be up there.

So if any V.commers are in Aspen this week, please stop by and say hi. It'd be great to put faces with the names!
