Flop, Point, Hop

It's my new favorite bowhand teaching tool! I often use these terms in helping my beginners get their bowhand, and those are my basic "three steps" to help them take it home and remember how to practice it, but this week with my new 6-year-old (who is doing quite well!) was the first time I ever used them just that simply, as a kind of game, and it worked great!

FLOP your fingers over/around the bow

POINT your thunb up toward your middle finger

HOP your pinky up on top, all by itself.

And of course keep everything soft and round and all that. But pretty much all I had to write instead of my usual description was "flop, point, hop." We just did it on a pencil this week, to get the shape; but we had fun with it and he totally got it and I am convinced he's going to come back next week still having it and ready to put it on his bow. Can't wait to experiment on the next one! :)
