Need HELP with Bach Sonata #1, part 1 Adagio, measure 9 chord fingering.

June 9, 2013 16:26

I need help with measure 9 of Bach Sonata for violin part 1 Adagio. About halfway into this measure there is a chord with the following notes in this order: A - F# - C natural.

My copy doesn't have any suggested fingering and I cannot figure out how to get finger 1, which is playing A, to jump to C natural for the chord. What am I supposed to do for this chord. It looks like first position is the only option for this since the A only exists on the G string in first position.

Thanks
