I was just reading this thread about perfect pitch, and I remembered something similar that we did in orchestra a couple months ago. Once we had all lwarmed up, but before our conductor gave us a pitch to tune to, he had everyone hum what they thought was an A. At first, there was quite a range of "As" but our conductor told us to adjust until everyone was humming the same "A." Once everyone was on the same pitch, he had us tune to that pitch, while still humming (a harder task than I expected). After we had tuned, he played an A on the paino, and we had been supprisingly close to the correct pitch (if a little sharp).

This is so annoying. Just when I need some work done on one of my violins, the only luthier in town has moved.............. So now, I'm in a frantic search for someone to set a sound post hopefully before Saturday... Also, I need a new set of strings by then. Sigh....
Sorry to rant.

Hi all,
It was brought to my attention that my profile picture is really big. Can anyone help me with how to delete it or make it smaller?

Thanks
