This Wednesday, the high school is leaving for our Friday morning concert at DisneyLand. I am getting REALLY excited!!! Though, 8 hours on a bus with the orchestra and marching band could be ummmm... interesting (we are expecting to get to the hotel at around midnight.

The music is finally starting to come together... though, its kind of annoying cause we didn't have rehearsal on Friday, and we won't have rehearsal on Monday (the school was closed) and we probably won't rehearse on Thursday.

Anyway, if nothing else, it should be fun. And cause we won't even be in our home state, we probably won't know anyone there (so when we mess up the Brandenburg (sp?) ........)

Yesterday, I had a really sacry experience when I was tuning my friend's violin...... all four pegs had slipped, but the bridge hadn't fallen, so as I was tightening the strings, I didn't notice that the bridge was at a really bad angle, and it snapped in half. The sound was horrid! (ya know - strings twanging, and pieces of wood hitting the body) Anyway, now I've been scared away from tuning my violin.... I'll have to get over that by the time I practice tonight...

Just some very random things I have been noticing...... (these are all simply in my experience, and might not hold true elsewhere)

~Orchestras tend to be mostly female
~Soloists tend to be male
~Violinists tend to have blue eyes

.... I may add to this list as I think of other things...

I really hate it when this happens..... my lesson was canclled for the third week in a row..........
The first week, I was sick
The second week, I had a concert
Today, my teacher couldn't get to my house (2 mile dirt road)

Oh sigh.......

Well, I guess I'm playing in the summer POPS orchestra this year.......

In less than a week, I was asked by three people to play in it. So, ok. But today, the High school was touring the middle schools and the POPS conductor was at one of the middle schools, and came over and told me that someone had said that the second chair, first violin (that would be me) of the High school orch should play in POPS....... I do, however want to know who told him that...

Anyway, that was the excitement from today...
