One of the pieces we read was really strange, the arranger tried to fit all known chrisstmas carols on two pages... There were about 8 measures of each carol before starting the next (with out any sort of transition...) My 'favorite' was going from Deck the Halls to Silent Night... it doesn't quite work
So, the other night I had a strange conversation with the conductor at the college.
He asked me if I had any plans on Thursday nights.
I told him that I didn't
Then, he asked me if I would play percussion in the college band. - yes, percussion...
So I agreed... And on Thursday night, I got to learn how to play the bass drum... and, I have to admit that its really fun (gives you a taste of how people become power hungry...) I also got to play the bells, chimes, xylophone, cabasa, two-toned blocks, cow bells, and other random noise makers. But the bass drum was by far the best!
In other news, I have a choir concert in a few hours, the high school is on fall break, and I have an audition sometime in the next two weeks (I'll find out when it is tomorrow)
