Reese's Pieces

May 10, 2008 09:36

Tommorow, May 11, as we celebrate Mother's Day, I will be playing in a Mother's Day Concert with the Johnstown Symphony and am very grateful that my own mother will be able to be in attendance. Although my primary instrument of concentration is the violin, I cannot forget the countless sacrifices my mother made in seeing that I, along with my five brothers and sisters, had the opportunity of studying music via the piano when I was younger. Along with the piano, I later began a love affair with the violin and of course my mom has always been there to listen, encourage, and appreciate. I am sure that many have a similar love and appreciation for their own mom's and the sacrifices they made for them, especially where music is concerned. And so to all the mothers who have been there for us helping to be the foundation of our musical formation through their sacrifices and encouragement, thank you, God bless you, and have a wonderful Mother's Day!
