Experiance with a new violin from manufactured one.

December 18, 2010 23:24

Hey, I am getting a new violin from my teacher.  I currently have a East man, and its manufactured, its horrible.  It does not project a loud enough sound, the intervals are terrible, and the neck is kind of thick.  I know for a fact that it is holding me back, and I have to actually have to press on the bow to get a descent loud sound.   My question is - When i do get this violin from my teacher, suppose the violin is good.  It isn't manufactured and its a old one.  Do you guys think it will make things way easier for me?  Do you guys remember upgrading from a manufactured violin, how did it feel?  My friend recently got a violin from my teacher and he said its amazing, and easier to play on.  May i hear other opinions please.

A life as a young violinists, is it really worth it?

December 18, 2010 19:37

Do you guys think a violin life is worth it?  I practice the violin 4 hours a day and im only 14, i can see that i have no time to do anything.  This is what i must do to become good and i accept that.  I also, don't mind practicing because when im older it will be worth it.  When you think about how much you miss out though, and is all that time of your life practicing the violin is worth it.  I also, see that you won't have time to go date, and meet other people, do things, and many more.  For example Michael Rabin.  What are you guys opinions or thoughts about this.
