Is Ann Fontanella (violinist) still playing?

Edited: August 21, 2023, 2:26 AM · Obviously I respect her need for privacy and I don't mean to 'intrude' in an inappropriate manner but I was wondering if Ann Fontanella (ex pupil of Friedman) is still playing/being active out there?

I am presuming probably not as she seems to have 'totally' disappeared from the 'world wide web', there is no trace at all of her anywhere which is unusual if you are a professional still in the field as the 'web' dominates our lives and its a good way to keep yourself in the spotlight and get work/publicity

She has been one of my favourite young violinists and whilst I miss seeing/hearing from her if she has gone quite due to her own personal reasons then its totally ok and I'll just cherish her old videos/audio files while they are still out there.

Hope you are well and happy Ann if you read this

I didn’t find any very recent classical concert performances (though I did not do a deep dive), but she seems to be actively gigging. She is on Facebook, and her public cover photo suggests that she may be busy with family.

Edited: August 23, 2023, 1:06 PM · Ann is a great violinist and friend! We were Erick Friedman’s 2 last students in the Master’s program at Yale while we were in our early teens. I hear she’s doing a lot of performing now!
August 23, 2023, 8:16 PM · A web search turned up her senior recital program -- at Lynn Conservatory, which was the subject of a discussion thread some days ago (link below). Her recital selections included the Brahms 3 and Debussy sonatas. Her bio mentions studying with Friedman at Yale at the age of 14.

August 24, 2023, 3:55 AM · thank you all, I am glad she's still going strong

and yes I have found her facebook page/profile ie the personal one rather than the professional one and I can see she has a busy family life which is wonderful!

From my side having seen her youtube channel and facebook 'professional page' going suddenly quite and not being able to find any latest info (maybe my searching skills aren't great) I was wondering what happened.

I enjoyed her videos and posts so much and I was 'missing her', it's a pity I am not located in the US to be able to go and see her live.

Nate do let her know that she has 'fans' in Europe (UK) :)

anyway, that is good news, thank you
