I was listening to the Swan Lake Suite on the radio, and one of the movements had an incredible violin solo not unlike that of Paganini. Lots of chords, flourishing notes, and virtuosic moments. There was even a place where the violin played a rather fast scale of tenths! Does anyone know which movement or dance this is from?
Hi Brian, Anastasia Khitruk has an absolutely fantastic recording available on her website. Enjoy!

Jon
Act I #5 part I: Pas de deux
and
Act II #13 part V: Danse des cygnes
Some of the greatest solos.
Hi Drew, I'm curious of your thoughts on the above recording
Also, Happy Thanksgiving! :-)
Yes, Paul, that was it! You are the greatest, man. Thanks a million.
Mr. Frohnen, I can't wait to check out those recordings, thanks.
And Mr. Lecher, those two dances are absolutely gorgeous.
Glad that was it:)
Jonathan,
I get the window, but no sound.
Mr. Frohnen, such a beautiful recording.
Mr. Lecher, it sems to work for me. Are you meaning Mr. Frohen's link? Do you have all the updated software? I must tel you, it is gorgeous.
Brian,
If you find somewhere that this can be purchased, could you please let me know?! :)
I was searching and I couldn't find an addition for just violin and I really would not like to pay $127.00 for a whole full orchestra set!
Do you mean the sheet music? I don't know where to find just the violin, but here is a free copy of the score.

Oh thanks! I didn't think it would be on imslp!
I have the violin 1 part on my computer; you can send me an email at arakeshm@gmail.com
Jonathan & Brian,
Finally got back to the recording. It worked fine 2nd time around and was wonderful playing.
Thanks for sharing.
Drew

Ah, I think I know what your talking about. It could be Swan Lake, Op.20: Danse Russe. If you search Janine Jansen on iTunes and click on the self titled album with the white album, the first song is what I'm talking about. Tell me if it's what you think you heard. It is a beautiful piece indeed.
