Violinist.com blog: http://www.violinist.com/blog/duncan When I was 12, I first attended the Strings International Music Festival. Besides it being an incredibly fun and enlightening experience, it greatly influenced my decision at that time to try my hardest to study music. Ever since then I have gained many more teachers. My main teacher is June Huang, in the Burke area of Virginia. I also study with Claudia Chudacoff, Misha Vitenson and Michael Klotz from the internationally-renowned Amernet Quartet in Miami, Zvi Zeitlin, and Shmuel Ashkenasi. In order to keep up with these teachers, and my own practice, I take about three on-line courses every year. This year, I am taking AP Calculus, American History, and English on-line. At school I am taking IB Biology, IB Physics, and IB. I am not a very natural player. When I start a new piece, it takes well over a month for me to even get used to the technique. However, I do consider myself a dedicated and hard worker, and I hope that I improve enough to study music. I am so incredibly lucky to have such loving and wonderful parents who sacrifice so much for me, great family and friends who put up with my schedule and antics, and superb teachers who patiently work with me and help me grow, not only as a musician, but as a person. Thanks so much and I look forward to corresponding with you all on this wonderful website! E-mail: Registered users may send a message to Brian Hong from this page.
