Hi all,
It's been a while since my last post. The holidays were incredibly hectic and I've found it quite hard to get back to my old routine--and that includes not only blog posting but violin practicing as well!
I've had to put aside the main piece I was working on--Concertino in ungarischer Weise, by O. Rieding, Op. 21--in order to get back to the right tracks with something a bit easier, this time an etude by Harry Schloming.
I've also been looking at violin cases for my new violin (hand-made in China, assembled here in Belgium, nothing fancy, but with a rich, sweet tone). Anyway, this is the case I think I'll end up buying within the next few days.
For some reason the price has dropped half since last year, so my teacher tells me it's a great buy. Here's the link: http://www.tasset.com/artonuselipeviolincase-p-9163.html. Any thoughts?
Anyway, I hope you all had a very nice holiday season.
Today on my blog, Violin and Books, is Kristy Kiernan, author of CATCHING GENIUS, which features a violinist as one of its protagonists. I had the pleasure of interviewing this fascinating author thanks to our very own Terez Rose, who was kind enough to 'introduce' us via the internet.
If you'd like to read the interview, please go to http://www.violinandbooks.wordpress.com
Thanks and have a great day!
best,
Mayra Calvani
