Well, it's official. I'm headed to the University of MD this fall. And I'm so excited! I'm going to be studying with Dr. James Stern, which is going to be great, I'm sure. The correspondence I've had with him so far has been awesome. He seems to be a really friendly yet intense teacher, and I think he is really excited to have me in his studio (and I'm really happy to be in his studio!). Apparently the auditions at UMD this year were really competitive, my current teacher (who knows the whole faculty there, pretty much) told me that they had around 80 violinists try out for 16 spots, so I'm really excited that they accepted me.Another great thing is that my friend (and fraternity brother) from school at Shenandoah is going to Catholic U for his MM in vocal performance, so we're going to be living together somewhere in Hyattsville or something close to both schools. So I don't have to worry about finding a place by myself or with some random person off of Craig's List.
I also just got my recital CD that turned out pretty well. I'll have to post something (maybe the Beethoven sonata or the Bach) on that "in concert" thing once I put it on my computer.
Congratulations on getting into the school of your choice, especially since the competition was intense.
