Well, sometimes problems get solved in unexpected ways. The CJSO board voted a very elegant solution -- the music director is returning, and I will remain as assistant conductor, specifically in charge of string rehearsals. Personally, I think it's the best possible way to resolve what could have become a bad situation for the orchestra.
