It is celebrated on the birthday of Igor Stravinsky, born Lomonosov, 17 June 1882; died New York, 6 April 1971.According to this site, June 17 is also "White Bronco Day." The low speed chase of O.J. Simpson occurred on this day in 1994.

Dang, I wish I'd read this blog on the 17th - I could have celebrated it with my violin teacher. Ah well, next year.
