Goodbye, Budapest.
Well, the whole graduate school thing didn't work out. I'll write about it in my book or something. I called my parents to tell them the news and my father said, "Well, it's about time you had a setback!"

Oh the other hand, I have bought--good lord--another bow. I'll tell everyone more about it when my outfit and I are safely back in the United States. I haven't decided on what to name this bow, but it will be rehaired and cleaned for me while I'm out of Budapest for the week. If anyone wants to see me, I'll be in Martonvasar, where Beethoven spent some productive time, I hear.

So yes, no more math graduate school in Budapest for me. I'm free to do something else. I don't know what, but I'm free to do it.

Good luck, Jessica! Given the experiences of friends and family with graduate school, you're wise to leave. If it's not working for you, grad school just ain't the place to be. Enjoy your freedom!
