Good Luck, Good Karma...

February 1, 2006 at 12:19 AM

Just got two invitations, one from a former roommate now conductor to perform with his chamber orchestra in 06-07 and the second - an invitation to play at the International Festival of Art and Ideas in New Haven, Connnecticut, this summer.

Lucky, cheerful, cooperative, and yes, HUMBLE.

The New Haven thing - well, what can I say? Strange, I worked for Da Camera of Houston for two years under the incredible leadership of a woman named Mary Lou Aleskie. She did nothing but encourage me to play the violin and was a great advisor regarding careers in music, arts administration, etc. Well now she's hiring me again - this time as an artist?

Life has a funny way of brining people and situations together...all you have to do is watch and listen for your cues, and that cue came in Penn Station (NYC) after leaving Buffalo. I saw Mary Lou and her husband walking through and we talked a bit.

So - like she said, don't go anywhere without letting people know where you are.
