I laugh on the inside now, as today I found myself "wearing two hats" - specifically, preparation for the concert is going smoothly and I was also able to write a press release for the orchestra. This was not that big of a deal - for two years I worked in Arts Administration and for some reason felt that at the time being in that office was the "right" thing, even if it seemed that the "job" was getting in the way of my violin playing.SO, I wrote a press release last night and have been involved in "distribution" while still being able to practice. Have a feeling that this may be going on for a bit duing the next year while the "solo" stuff keeps going - which is what I would like to happen.
It is funny, however, spending one's life dreaming about playing solo concerts and then finding yourself with the reality of being tied to the metronome and Sevcik Op. 1 parts 2 and 4!
At least it's meaningful and I'm happy.
SO...if anyone ever needs a press release written, find me...samuelathompson@yahoo.com
