I'm alive!

April 7, 2007 at 2:25 AM

I'm alive! My parents reluctantly let me drive home from church. I will recount some of the events.
1. I pulled out of the church parking lot at about 20 mph. Which is really fast for my first time out in the city. My second time behind the wheel.
2. I took this weird swervy turn really fast. But my foot was off the gas. I was still going 25. Scary, cause there was a Hummer behind me.
3. I got home safely but sweating profusely.

Be careful when there's a Hummer behind you. They're driven by the paramilitary rich. If you have liberal bumper stickers they'll hit the gas and flatten you, you com-mu-nist. Nobody driving home from chruch has liberal bumper stickers though. That's how come you made it.

"Nobody driving home from chruch has liberal bumper stickers though."

Totally not true in my neck of woods!

The three most often-repeated phrases by my parents when I drive:
1. "Stay in your lane!"
2. "Did you check your mirrors?"
3. "Red means stop, green means go, yellow means slow the heck down."

Save yourself some trouble and try to be perfect for the first few times. Then they stop worrying so much.
