Which one?

December 20, 2006 at 6:09 AM

Tomorrow, or Wednesday December 20, isd when I get my new instrument hopefully. But I'm having second thoughts not about if I should get one, but if I should get a flute, trumpet, or trombone. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I can't decide. So here's a list of pros and cons for each. Any help would be appreciated. All of these instruments would cost the same to rent. $15.95

Flute
Pros:
Small
Lightweight
Inexspensive to maintain

Cons:
Very delicate
Arms in a weird position

Trumpet:
Pros:
Able to play many types of music
Only three valves

Cons:
Relatively big
New mouth formation
Really ugly sounds at the beginning.(Kind of like violin)
Have to buy Valve oil
Lot of spit

Trombone:
Pros:
Bass line instrument
Big range

Cons:
Big
New mouth formation
Really ugly sounds at the beginning.(Kind of like violin)
Have to buy Slide grease
Lots of spit
The slide is like the violin and intonation

I say Trumpet! One con for trumpet it the 3rd valve slide. It actually sometimes acts as a 4th valve. Another Con being Paritals. It took me about half a year to learn to recognize the partials I was in (for tuba I play upwords of 9 partials!)

But a pro for the trumpet is something that not too many people know about. The way that the trumpet transposes, it enables you to play 3 instruments! A trumpet obviously, but it also enables you to play Eflat Tuba and A baritone tenor horn! All with the same fingerings!

Greetings,
I prefer to think in terms of ladies who are:
Small
Lightweight
Inexspensive to maintain
Very delicate
Arms in a normal position
Able to play many types of music
Only three valves
New mouth formation
Really ugly sounds during the middle and end
Not too much spit
Big range

Have to buy Slide grease ?????????

Cheers,
Buri
