Diminish the pressure on the finger tips is a wonderful trick for this!  In addition, it makes a natural non forced sound.  Personally, I can't handle too much pressure on my fingers so I prefer a wrist  to not tell mostly finger vibrato with very light pressure of finger tips since it's them who make most of the motion.  I don't know if it's possible to put as little pressure with arm vibrato though???  This would be a good question for those who use them.

Good luck! And to copy Buri's advice, basic by Simon Fisher has very good exercises ; )

And my fetish exercise for practicing light pressure of fingers and width of vibrato, flexibility of the first joint etc is to bow very very slowly with much pressure and good contact point (almost scratchy) while I try to vibrate the widest and fastest possible.  Looks odd, but it's very difficult to have it well since our body is made so that the hands respond to each other. (you put pressure, so i will, you move slow, so I will etc).  This "forces" to develop your independance between your two hands and reduce the finger pressure. Very efficient but sound absoluntly awful!

I have many numb finger problems but it's not because of pressure but because they are almost always freezing (very big surface/volume ratio cause they are small). It's like playing on ice cold needles.  It's the most anoying thing cause it feels part of my natural metabolism/state???  but it's a different issue than yours!

Good luck!
