Happy Halloween!

October 31, 2012 at 5:37 PM

Happy Halloween, All Saints' Day, and Dia de los Muertos. Here's an oldie but goodie , to get you in the mood: "Night on Bald Mountain," as imagined in Disney's Fantasia. (Music starts at 1:15, if you want to skip the introduction!)

I like this song! We performed it at our Pops Concert in May, although I specifically didn't (some groups were left out) and I don't remember the last few minutes of the piece being in it, but otherwise it was great. It's obviously Halloweeney at the beginning, but during the slow, hymn-like conclusion, the piece takes on a 'Halloween is over and morning is coming' feeling, which is a cool concept. Thanks for sharing!
