Choosing a violin is very subjective and one of the difficulties is that somehow our playing favors the instrument that we like most. I always think it is important to have someone play the instruments for you so as to provide another ear and also allow you to hear the instrument as a audience hears it. Obviously it is best to try it in a hall if possible. I enjoyed your audio clips and think the Rampini has a very nice lower register, almost resembling the old Italian sound. I prefer the Bissolotti in the higher register. Of course just one persons opinion.

After listening to the clips again today, I'm struck by the richness of the Bissolotti sound. I think I didn't fully appreciate it while I was playing it because I had to work a little harder on it than on the Rampini.
