I'm a student at St. John's University in Queens NY. Unfortunately the university doen't have a school orchestra. I've played the violin for ten years, but am by no means at a professional level. Furthermore I can't dedicate the amount of time required to perform in a professional orchestra. Does anyone know of any amateur orchestras in the metropolitan area?
Thanks
The beauty of living in NY--there are tons of amateur musical opportunities. I'm sure if you do simple google search, tons will pop up. Also, contact community bands and ask if they know of community orchestras in the area.
