I met Alicia at a house concert that she played, through a mutual friend of ours. In addition to playing the guitar, Alicia sings and plays the violin – an unusual combination – and successfully combines the two in her performances of music on Jewish themes. Alicia recently premiered her original piece “A Kaddish for Bernie Madoff” at Joe’s Pub in NYC, which is a chamber rock opera that stimulates us to think about about the implications of the infamous financier's role as a criminal juxtaposed with society-at-large.
