My playing has seems to have come to a stand-still. I have been practicing the same piece, Allegro by Fiocco, for over a month and I am having trouble with timing. There are pensil marks all over the sheets of music and it's not helping because when I look down to see the mark I lose my train of thought and fumble the next bar. Maybe I should try recording myself and listening to it to find my problems. I refuse to move on until this piece is 'under my belt'.

Hey Kelly!

I've just started Allegro too! Hahaha, I'm sorry I can't offer any help though. :)

Try playing it sloooowly at a speed where its EASY. When you can play it all through and its a piece of cake (this may take 2-4 days of slow practice), try and speed it up. Hopefully it should still feel as easy up to speed if you have been playing the rythms right. Happy fiddling
John
